Job role for Redhat Linux System Administrator - Level 1 / Level 2 support Installation, Configuration and Administration and Remote Monitoring of Solutions around SUSE and Red Hat/ Cent OS Linux Servers according to client requirements Administration of Linux Cluster Servers Demonstrate a high degree of creativity in performing tasks by identifying, proposing, implementing and streamlining activities to reshape technology and processes Migration of SUSE and Red Hat Linux Server environments from Older to Newer Generation based systems Handle the responsibilities of being a Technical Interface for Specific Clients Carry out SUSE and Red Hat Linux Server Build/ Server De-commissioning Activities. Conduct Periodic Server/ Cluster Performance Analysis and fine tune Server Performance Plan and Implement Time bound Projects within the line of support viz. System Upgrades, Patch Management, Migrations etc. Execute Incident management, Change Management and Problem management and other service management functions in line with ITIL Standards Server Capacity Management Work with other cross-functional teams to provide seamless Service Delivery Communicate issues and solutions that may impact the team. Provide weekly and Monthly status reports on projects Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Essential): 4 to 6 Years of overall Experience in IT Services and Systems Management 4 Years of Experience in UNIX/ Linux Systems Management Expert Skills in SUSE and Red Hat Linux Server Management (Installation, Configuration, Migration, Build, De-commission, On-going Systems Management & Administration etc.) 3-4 years of Unix Server Security Administration Good Skills in the Administration of Logical Volume Manager Administration of Linux Cluster Server Administration Very good knowledge with ITIL Processes (Incident, Problem and Change Management etc). Preferably ITIL Foundation Certified. Knowledge in using Service Management Tool Should have worked in a Remote Support Environment Ability to clearly articulate situations / issues to cross-functional teams and clients
